There were few ticket windows and train gates were old looking and made of wood. Dim gas lights flickered and men wore derby hats and four button suits. It was rather strange world of sideburns beards and fancy mustaches.

With the wings of imagination, Charley returned to collect enough money to buy two tickets to Galesburg town for himself and his wife Louisa.
